With being brought up in a very strong golfing family I had my first golf lesson at the age of 3 with the club professional Angus Dow, who is still my coach to this day. As I was growing up I tried out most sports to see which I enjoyed the most and which I was best at. Football is a big passion of mine and started playing from an early age, but gave that up when I was 15 to concentrate more on my golf. From the time when I was in my mid-teens golf started to stand out and with representing my county at junior level I soon knew that golf was going to be the sport of my choice. All I wanted to do was play golf but at this age I was going through my GCSE's which I went through and achieved 12 A*-C grades. Once these were completed I stayed on at school and went through my A levels, in which I achieved 2 B grades and 1 D grade. Now all my exams were out the way and school was finished I was able to concentrate on my golf and with the support from my parents I was able to start competing in national amateur events. In my first year playing the tournaments I got my first win in the Midland Open. This gave me the springboard to move forward and to start competing at the top level of amateur golf. Since this there has been further achievements in qualifying for the Faldo series grand final at The Greenbrier, West Virginia, USA. Being part of my county team has been very successful as in 2014 and 2015 we won the Eastern County Foursomes held at Seacroft, and also in 2015 we won the 6 man team MIdland Qualifier and the East Anglian league with an unbeaten record throughout the year. At the end of 2015 I went to European Tour Q School, in which I qualified for the second stage but unfortunately that was as far as I got. 2016 saw a new career path in the golfing world for me as it was the year in which I turned professional. I have had four years so far on the Europro Tour and have kept my card each year. The next step in my progression as a professional athlete is to move up to the next level, either on the Challenge Tour or ideally the European Tour.
